And if you need one more reason:
You won’t be alone. You’ll do all of this with the support, encouragement and help of other like-minded women who are all growing and striving for balance and joy to live an inspired Torah life every minute of the day.
This is how it Works
Once the challenge starts, you will receive an email with instructions for joining the course and a suggested list of supplies to get started (you’ll probably have most of these already at home).
Then each day, G-d willing, you’ll receive the daily journal prompts and links to the video art tutorials or guided meditations (I know you’e busy so they’re only about 2 minutes each).
And of course, there will be some of my hand-lettered Artnotes of encouragement and Torah wisdom to get you excited about your Creative Torah Journaling journey!
Each day for 5 days...
You can choose to just use the creative journal prompts in the email or you can follow the links to our Joyfully Jewish online school.
There you can watch the daily video tutorials, listen to guided meditations, and read or download the encouraging and inspirational, hand-lettered Torah Artnotes.
You can print these off, color them in, or put them up on your walls or your fridge to keep you inspired throughout the day.
Every day, the challenge of the day will be posted in our private facebook group
All the participants of the challenge can share their work, ideas and results in the group and get feedback and support from other inspired women.
If you’re not on Facebook, no worries. You can share your thoughts and creative work right inside the course, or email me directly to share your insights or to ask questions.
Hi! I’m Rae Shagalov
See that little girl next to me? That’s my granddaughter and she’s my “why.” My grandchildren are why I work so hard to make sure meaningful Jewish connection is at the core of everything we do.
I strongly believe that G-d endowed us with many gifts that can be used to energize ourselves, nurture our families and light up the world! Even if 5 minutes a day is all you’ve got.
Connecting to G-d is always about going up and keeping yourself inspired which is why it’s so easy to fall when you don’t make time for yourself to reflect on your personal and spiritual growth. We are all growing two steps forward and one step backward (well, sometimes two steps backward and one step forward). As long as we are growing – no matter how slowly – there is hope in aspiring to be better…even if we aren’t quite sure yet what better is.
You have a very special job in this world. There are certain holy sparks that only you can elevate. If you feel overwhelmed and uninspired, how can you lift up those around you?
Spiritual growth is a constant battle and hard work but it’s very worth it in the end and fascinating along the way. Creative journaling is a way to explore, regroup and energize yourself to find a joyful way that works for you.
Creative journaling is a fun and easy way to tune in and get connected to yourself, to your Judaism and to G-d. Journaling can also help you heal from painful experiences through self-care and artistic expression.
It’s urgent that you find a way to channel your creative talents in a way that benefits both your soul and those you love. After all, G-d blessed you with this talent, so He wants you to use it! That part of you needs an outlet for expression. I believe you can find ways to use your creativity without compromising your Torah values. In fact, Torah will enhance your personal expression, like it did for me.
You shouldn’t feel like you’re sacrificing the best part of yourself. There must be some way you can re-ignite it! Let’s find out how – and let’s figure out how you can carve out a few minutes in your day to get in touch with the highest and best part of yourself so that you can satisfy that part of yourself that’s longing to be set free.
I’ll be like your personal cheerleader, encouraging and inspiring you to keep moving forward! If I can help in any way, please let me know.
All you have to do is spend 10-15 minutes or so a day for 5 days to use the daily journal prompts, and you will have a creative journal you will cherish to dream, to plan and to express the highest best part of you.
So what say you, are you in?
What EXACTLY will We be doing in the daily challenges?
By the end of the 5-Day Challenge, with G-d’s help you will:
Choose
Learn and Reflect
Doodle & Write
Plan & Relax
Explore
Make Good Changes
“Take a creative journey into your Jewish soul! Rae’s delightful illustrations and inspiring words take you step by step into pure connection, relaxation and visualized tranquility.”
This all sounds great but what if….
...I don’t have time to complete the daily challenges?
...I'm not an artist or I don't like to write?
...I can't afford art supplies
...I need help or have questions?
...I want to continue longer than 5 days?
